My name is Ola. I love God, my family and 4.5 friends. I love hair. I’ve been obsessed with it since I was a little girl. I’ve always desired hair but was afraid to take the leap. I went to college with the intention of applying for law school afterward. Once I approached my senior year, I didn’t want to do it anymore. The opportunity for cosmetology school was always an option and it would always cross my mind but again, fear. I spent my 20's and part of my 30's working various office jobs. At 31 I decided that I need a side hustle to pay off my student loan. The only thing I knew was hair. Working as an assistant and later a stylist reignited my love for hair. Now I’m a licensed cosmetologist pursing my passion.

 

Hair health and education within the natural hair community is my niche. I understand that the mannequins don’t have our hair texture but scalp disorders do not discriminate. The only way to debunk these myths is to educate the natural hair community on proper theory and how to apply it to our hair.
